Materials & Finishes
Every surface, every finish, every grain — curated for beauty, specified for health, and chosen to age with grace over decades.
Our Philosophy
Every material in our range is selected against three criteria: beauty that deepens with age, health credentials that protect your family, and provenance you can trace. We do not compromise on any of the three.
Timber Veneers
Every timber veneer we specify is FSC-certified and sourced from responsibly managed forests. We work with European oak, American walnut, and Scandinavian ash — each species selected for its grain character, warmth, and the way it ages. Our veneers are bonded to E0-rated substrate boards, ensuring the air in your home remains as clean as the surfaces that surround you.
Lacquer Finishes
Our lacquer palette is formulated with water-based, VOC-free chemistry — finishes that are as safe for your family as they are beautiful to live with. From the chalky warmth of Limewash White to the earthy depth of Terracotta Clay, each colour is designed to interact with natural light across the day, shifting subtly from morning to evening. Applied in multiple coats and hand-sanded between each, our lacquers have a depth that paint simply cannot replicate.
Stone Surfaces
We work with both natural stone and premium engineered quartz — each selected for its character, durability, and the way it anchors a kitchen. Our natural stones are honed or brushed rather than polished, giving them a tactile warmth that feels at home in a living space rather than a laboratory. All stone surfaces are professionally sealed on installation and come with a full maintenance guide.
Hardware
We specify exclusively Blum and Hettich hardware — the two manufacturers whose engineering sets the global standard for soft-close precision, load-bearing reliability, and longevity. Our hardware finishes are applied using Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD), a process that bonds the finish at a molecular level, making it resistant to tarnishing, scratching, and the humidity of a Singapore kitchen for decades.

The Core — Structural Materials
The most important surface in your home is the one you'll never see. Behind every door and drawer front sits the carcass — the structural core that decides whether your cabinetry survives a decade of Singapore's heat, humidity and hidden termites. Most studios treat it as an afterthought. We don't.
Arimokko builds on Panel K, a mineral-core plywood engineered for the tropics: eucalyptus bonded with a magnesium-mineral matrix instead of conventional formaldehyde glue. The result is a board that holds firm against fire, shrugs off water, and gives termites nothing to thrive on — while releasing almost no formaldehyde into the air your family breathes.
In independent testing, termites failed to survive on Panel K — and it lost roughly ten times less material than untreated timber.
GB/T 18260 testedTÜV SÜD measured formaldehyde at just 0.01 mg/m³ — about a tenth of the Singapore Green Label limit.
